The 25th Session of the Food and Agriculture Organisation-Inter Governmental Group on Tea was held at Hotel Radisson Blu, Guwahati from January 31st to February 2nd. The session, featuring delegates/representatives from 25 countries, marked a historic occasion, as it was the first time the event was convened in this region. Serving as a vital global forum for tea, it brought together several nations involved in tea production and consumption to discuss key industry trends, including production, consumption, trade and pricing. With 77 delegates in attendance, India assumed the Chair from the United Kingdom for the next two years. The event concluded with a field visit by the FAO IGG members to Kellyden Tea Estate located in Nagaon, Assam.
